A Pair of Botanical Pochoir Prints J. Foord, c.1904, Art Nouveau period

These Botanical Prints are The Yellow Iris and Evening Primrose and have lovely shades of yellow fauna.  Jeannie Foord was a Scottish Artist and she was known for her Art Nouveau style and took her inspiration from nature.  She used the Pochoir technique which is stencil based printing and using delicate colours where single layers of colour are added by hand to a lithograph and is often used for art prints.  She was highly regarded by Arts & Crafts Artisans and her images were made into designs for fabrics, stained glass and woodwork.
